Facial Reflexology
The original method of Facial Reflexology (Sorensensistem) is a gentle, deeply relaxing yet rejuvenating treatment, mostly carried out on the face, and sometimes combined with reflex areas and points on the scalp, ears, hands and feet. It is suitable for anyone of any age, from babies to very elderly.
The practitioner works in a particular sequence, stimulating the various facial zones and points (micro-systems representing various parts of the body), which have a nerve relationship and neurological connections with all our bodily systems, individual organs, glands, muscles, ligaments and the brain.
The rhythmic movements and the gently firm pressure on select reflex points help send impulses via our vast neural network between the brain and the targeted bodily structures, stimulating the innate healing mechanism, helping to regulate the body’s energies, chemistry, and organ functions, facilitating overall balancing, thus bringing about a sense of calm and wellbeing.
The first treatment allows the therapist to assess the whole body, identifying any imbalances, and as the face, and in some cases hands and feet provide information needed, devises a personalised treatment plan for a way forward, assisting the client with their health journey according to their specific health needs.
In some cases, a practitioner might apply a specific advanced treatment protocol addressing a particular health issue which can assist your body’s healing further.
